ENVY

I know I should not be jealous, but I am! All over Blogland people are posting on decorating for Fall. NO FAIR!!!! Here in Houston we went 30 some odd straight days with 100 degrees plus. We have only had like 2 days of decent rain since October.
And here is our forecast...
7 Day Forecast
INSANE!!!!

And this is what I have to say to all you enjoying your
 Fall decorating....

Sitting here in my sweat,
Whyt ;-)

(I don't know how I did it, but the 7 day forcast picture changes daily.... It doesn't look as bad as it did when I first posted and it showed several 100 plus days!)

Be True

Last week I received a text from my BFF, Holly asking me to make her a sign for her classroom. She sent a quote by Dr. Seuss and said she wanted "soft colors" and "not too big but not too small."
Thanks for the details, Sister!

I picked up a 16x20 canvas and some Seussical craft paints.
I downloaded the Doctor Soos font and pulled out my Silhouette.
I painted the canvas in the style of the great doctor
and then vinyled the quote.
(Yes, I see the misspelling and I fixed it already!)

I think I know what Little Man's teachers are getting this year!
Holly, I hope you love this as much as I do!

Join me in prayer for our teachers and children as we start the new school year. Here in Texas, our teachers are being asked to do more with less during our state financial crisis. In addition, we will  have a more rigorous state exam system implemented this year.

Have a great school year, sweet friends!

Love, Whyt

What Happened to Summer????

What a week! My baby girl celebrated her 13th birthday with a Harry Potter slumber party. I was checking Facebook yesterday and a friend's baby started Kindergarten this week. And today was my first day back to work. As fate would have it, I slept through my alarm and woke up 40 minutes late. I made it to my Back to School meeting, but so much for a nice relaxed morning.

I had a blast with the kids this summer and am sad to see it come to a close. I totally fell off the blog bandwagon and didn't get much written and recorded. I didn't even craft, paint or decorate too much over the summer. I did start pinning, though. It is so easy to collect ideas and inspirations when waiting, winding down, or just being quiet.

I also read ALOT!!!! I received a Kindle for Mother's Day and I can't put it down. I have read over 20 books in 3 months. Amazon has a great collection of FREE and 99 cents books. I also love that they have reviews for the books.

It's time to get back on schedule for both me and the kids. Best wishes for you who's summer fun is coming to an end!

Make it a great School Year or not, the choice is yours!
