Shhhh.... they're sleeping....

I have been up for 4 hours already and the only noise
was Master Whimsy stopping by from his sleepover
 to take some allergy medicine!
 Ahhhh, Bliss!

I started by reading some of The Girl Who Played with Fire on my Kindle. Then it was time to catch up on Farmville and Facebook, then on to my blog reading.
I got to Tammy's blog Type A and inspiration struck!
I have a tray that I have been wanting to alter,
some antique sheet music I picked up at Easter,
and some chalk paint I wanted to play with.

TIME TO CRAFT!!!!

I slopped on some Château Grey the music.
"An elegant greyed green, this is the colour found in French woodwork. "

to the Dress Me Up tray from Southern Living at Home
Distressed the paint, and then Mod Podged

After all was dry, I waxed the tray. Then tried to choose some ribbon (which was the hard part). I didn't find anything in my stash that I love.
I guess that will wait for another day....

Have a Blessed Weekend!

  1. I have been wanting to try chalk paint I read about it on lots of blogs.

I think you have to have the wax that goes with it to get to a certain color?

like the tray and will watch for the ribbon effect

  2. I just use Johnson wax and it deepens the paint a little. There is also a tinted wax... but totally optional!
