ROUND TOP..... Enough Said

This weekend the boys were camping and it was also opening weekend at Round Top. I went out and spent the afternoon shopping and getting ideas. I scored 3 chairs for the dining room that I will paint and recover, a couple of antique quart canning jars and some old cabinet fronts, perfect for making signs! Oh and I stopped at Saddlehorn Winery, YUM!

Lesley over at SAVING GRACE has a booth at TEXAS ROSE, just across from Marburger Farms. Stop by and say Hi! She took my Easter Baskets I made and some other littles I had. But the bestest was all the furniture she has been working on. It was BEAUTIFUL! Prayers for a successful week!

Saving Grace also has a beautiful French settee for sale. OMG! It is to die for!

Its off to bed and to get ready for a GREAT week!

What a Week… And it’s only Tuesday!

Monday… Woke up 2 hours late and then late to work
Tuesday… Speeding ticket on the way to work
I was ready to crawl back in bed until Friday… then…
I get to work and my shoe breaks… Good gracious!

Fortunately, I keep an extra pair of shoes at work. And it was my first speeding ticket in over 10 years. Oh wait, did I mention the dishwasher went out last week???? Yeah, during Spring Break when we were all home making home cooked meals AND I
had 3 cakes… Can we say, “MASSIVE MESSES”?

I definitely need some prayers for peace and patience. I have been short on both.

Let me share a smile with you, though… I was at Hallmark and found a precious bunny key. It came with the following note:

Easter Bunny’s Magical Key

The Easter Bunny zips from place to place,
Making a jillion stops and delivering a bajillion baskets.
He’s somebunny special for sure!
This Easter Bunny Key on your doorstep tells the Bunny you’re anxiously awaiting him.
It gives him a magical way in to do his jelly-bean, marshmallow-chick, chocolate-bunny business just for you!

So… I used the key and made a cute Easter wreath from the front door. Now I can smile as I walk up to the front door, I can’t help but smile!

Have a great rest of the week! It can only get better!

Time to Repaint Bedroom Furniture!

I found this way cute dresser on Craigslist. I absolutely loved the lines! I initially was planning on using this in the living room or to replace the buffet Mr. Whimsy snagged for his media cabinet. Well, go figure… Mr. Whimsy had a different idea.
After completing the dresser, I came home to the dresser in the bedroom. Oh well  ;-)
After sanding and priming, I painted the dresser with Valspar Churchill Hotel Vanilla Satin.
I then glazed in PolyVine Create Paint Effects mixed with Glidden Paint Tested in Fresh Baked Pumpernickel. The hardware was primed then painted in Krylon Satin Oil Rubbed Bronze.

I absolutely LOVE the dresser! But now it sits next to the armoire which I dry-brushed years ago in an oops white with severe blue undertones. (You can see a little of it in the right of the picture above) YUCK! Guess I know what me Spring Break project will be…

Make it a great day, or not, the choice is yours!
