CyWoods FFA Craft Show

February is coming to a close! 1/6 of the way though 2013!

This weekend Whyt's Whimsy is making their Craft Show Debut! I am excited, nervous, and sleep deprived! If you are in the Houston area March 2 or 3, come show some love! The Exhibit Center is on Telge just North of 290 in Cypress, TX.

I will be selling my upcycled cabinet door signs, coasters, and wine glasses.
I will also be taking custom orders.

I have been a sanding, painting, vinyl cutting fool! Mr. Whimsy, Miss Whimsy, and my baby brother have been helping me SOOOO much. SP didn't know I would be putting to work when he escaped the Colorado snowstorms and came to town for vacation!

I have started a Facebook Page and am working towards 150 likes. If I hit that by Friday, I will be giving away a free custom wine glass or a set of 2 coasters.
and leave comment love!

Show a Teacher Love

Whyt's Whimsy Teacher Gift (2)

I have been out of the classroom for 5 years, so I no longer have those out of pocket teacher expenses for supplies. Every year, I make sure Master Whimsy’s teachers know that when they need stuff to let me know. I have a special affinity for hand sanitizer. Throughout the year, I even shoot emails to see if they need any additional sanitizer, since so often they will forget to ask, or feel awkward doing so. With flu season bearing down, I would rather spend the money for the classroom to keep germs at bay, than to take care of a sick kid. (As I write this, I am on my second round of antibiotics this year, 2nd day of missed work this week, and I have no desire for being nurse to the family…)

For gifts, I also lean toward the practical. For Christmas, I made recess 1st aid kits. This would also make a great gift for Valentine’s day. I ordered the Thirty-one Littles Carry-All Caddy from my Cypress Bag Lady.  These are the perfect size to carry out to recess and carry needed supplies. The teachers will LOVE you and the kids won’t have to miss class running to the nurse’s office.

I hit the dollar store and WalMart for the supplies. I included bandaids, Vaseline lip balm, tissues, hand lotion, rash cream, wet wipes, qtips, and of course, hand sanitizer.

Go for the practical teacher gifts for Valentine’s, they will LOVE you for it!

Have a great weekend! Love, Whyt

Getting Excited

I have registered for my 1st craft fair! I am scared/excited/nervous/overwhelmed. I have set up my state tax ID, DBA, and am getting set up to take credit cards…
I was posting on the Whyt’s Whimsy Facebook page photos of upcycled signs, wine glasses, and other projects this evening. Eeek! I need to keep my portfolio up to date! I am already getting orders! Thank you sweet friends and family.
My focus for the craft fair will be my upcycled signs made from old cabinet doors.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they come already “framed.”

These were signs donated for a silent auction at church. The signs made so much more money than I could ever have given. Thank you Lord for multiplying my gifts!

Off to bed! My great niece's birthday party is at Ft. Hood tomorrow. I still don’t think I can be old enough to be a great aunt. My niece was my flower girl. And after all, I just turned 41 this past week.

Not too shabby for 41, eh?
Have a blessed week!
