Date Night

I had the most fabulous date night with my little man last night. We went and saw Toy Story 3D. It was a sweet coming of age movie. Mommies and little ones alike will love it!

Check out the fire screen behind us in the picture. I picked up the 4 dark brown shutters for $15 and then with  $2 worth of off white acrylic craft paint, I dry brushed the shutters. How chic!


Here are a couple of great cakes I have made. I use homemade buttercream and both these cakes have ribbon accents. No fondant here, yuck!

It's Summertime...

I have been blessed to have my nephew spend the week with my family. We tend to see him only at the holidays. The kids have played so well together and have had a blast.

I am finally getting in the groove of vacation. I even started rearranging furniture! The cleaning ladies will be here tomorrow and I don't think they have ever been here twice in a row where I haven't changed something!

Now I need to get motivated to paint the armoire in the breakfast room. Right now it contains my scrapbooking mess, but I am thinking of turning it into a dry bar with my wine fridge at the bottom.... I guess I better measure!

I have 6 weeks off... what kind of trouble can I get into? Stay tuned!

Welcome

I am so excited to start blogging! This will be a place I can show off my creations. I am known to get a bee in my bonnet and just start doing! I figured this would be a perfect place to showcase my work.


By trade, I am an Educational Diagnostician. I test students for disabilities and work to create individual education plans for children in Special Education. I am a child advocate and am very passionate about doing what is right for kids. I have a special place in my heart for children with disabilities, especially those with Autism.


I am Mom to Lauren and Logan. (Two of the most beautiful kids on the face of this planet!) Lauren is in 6th grade and Logan, Kindergarten. They both have sensitive spirits and are as goofy as all get-out!


To relax, I get creative. I decorate cakes, scrapbook, decorate my home, sew, and garden. My husband of 15 years never knows what state the house or yard will be in when he gets home.
