My Country tis of Thee

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is the National Day of the United States. the 4th of July commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Here at the Whimsy household, we typically grill an obscene amount of meat and blow up an equally obscene amount of fireworks. Friends know all are invited and show up with more meat and fireworks. It’s a very casual affair with kids running about and everyone having fun.
I finally updated my mantle to reflect Independence Day. It also gave me a chance to deep clean the area too! I spent less that $10 on the update and made a new sign.
(The 4th of July sign is for sale, email me at whytswhimsy@att.net for more info.)

The $10 covered the taper candles, the red, white & blue daisies, the flag and the red and blue star ribbons. Everything else was either part of the mantle-scape or came from the craft closet. Pretty cool, eh?
This week I was contacted by a shop that has heard about Whyt’s Whimsy through Facebook. The owner is inquiring about purchasing signs to sell in her shop. How cool is that? We are still in the talking stage, but I am so excited to see where God is going to take Whyt’s Whimsy! Thinking ahead to presence in a shop and fall shows, I have started working on Fall and Christmas themed signs. Of course, wine glasses and steins will feature themes too.

Off to paint some more signs!

God bless America!
Love, Whyt

  2. Love your sign, a different slant on a flag. I like things different than anybody has. Don't think I'll attempt this one due to all the lettering but love looking at it. I don't have a machine to make the lettering so I use stencils. Happy 4th.
